Acquisitions & Bespoke Commissions

Due to the slow, hand-made nature of our work, standard lead times for bespoke commissions range from 14 to 18 weeks. Complex pieces requiring rare materials (such as shagreen, parchment, or cast bronze) may require up to 24 weeks. A precise production timeline will be provided upon the initiation of your commission.

To initiate a commission, we require a 50% deposit. This secures the raw materials and places your order in our production queue. The remaining balance, along with shipping costs, is due prior to final crating and dispatch. For “In Stock” gallery pieces, payment is due in full at the time of acquisition.

Yes. The majority of our collection is designed to be tailored. We invite you to collaborate with our team to adjust dimensions, select specific wood grains, or apply custom patinas to suit your interior architecture. Request a bespoke consultation to discuss your project.

Because bespoke pieces are commissioned specifically for your requirements and handmade to order, all bespoke and custom sales are final. To ensure your absolute confidence, we provide detailed technical drawings, finish samples, and progress photos for your approval prior to production.

Provenance & The Registry

Every work leaving Aftab Gallery is engraved with our gallery mark, the year of creation, and a unique serial number. Each piece is accompanied by a physical Certificate of Provenance signed by the artist and the gallery director, ensuring its identity as an investment-grade asset.

Registration serves as the permanent digital biography of your object. By recording your unique serial number in our Ownership Registry, you protect the value of the piece, verify its authenticity for insurance purposes, and gain priority access to future artist releases.

Logistics & Global Shipping

Yes, Aftab Gallery facilitates acquisitions for collectors globally. We work with specialized art logistics partners to handle international museum-grade crating, customs clearance, and air/sea freight. Shipping quotes are calculated based on destination and volumetric weight.

Yes, as a premium concierge service. While our standard international shipping ensures secure crated transport to your address, we can coordinate with specialized third-party logistics partners to handle the final mile. This upgrade includes uncrating, placement in your room of choice, and packaging removal. Please request this service during your consultation so it can be added to your invoice.

We can facilitate the process. We do not employ in-house electricians, but for complex installations, we can liaise with third-party specialists on your behalf to ensure they understand the technical requirements of the piece. Alternatively, we provide your private contractor with detailed installation guides, mounting hardware, and white gloves to ensure a flawless setup.

Care & Stewardship

Our bronze pieces are finished with a “living patina” protected by micro-crystalline wax. Dust gently with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Never use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or water, as these can strip the finish. We recommend professional re-waxing once every 2–3 years to maintain the luster.

We use natural, oil-based finishes that allow the wood to breathe. Wipe spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid placing pieces in direct sunlight or near heat sources to prevent warping. Coasters are mandatory for all horizontal wood surfaces.
