We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your data in the following circumstances:

  • Performance of Contract: To fulfill a bespoke commission, arrange international logistics, or coordinate White-Glove installation.
  • Legitimate Interests: To maintain our Ownership Registry (provenance records), administer our Trade Program, and ensure the security of our digital platform.
  • Legal Obligation: To comply with tax reporting and export/import regulations.

Specific Use Cases:

  • To register you as a new Private Client or Trade Partner.

4. International Transfers

As a global design gallery, we share your personal data within the Aftab Gallery internal network and with select external third parties (such as international fine-art logistics partners, customs brokers, and specialized artisans).

This may involve transferring your data outside the European Economic Area (EEA) or your country of residence. Whenever we transfer your data, we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to it by ensuring strict confidentiality agreements and data protection safeguards are in place with our partners.

5. Data Security

We have implemented appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorized way. We limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors, and other third parties who have a specific business need to know (e.g., a delivery team needing your address). They are subject to a strict duty of confidentiality.

6. Data Retention & The Registry

How long will you use my personal data for? We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

Provenance Exception: Please note that specific Transaction Data regarding the acquisition of Limited Edition or Bespoke works is retained indefinitely in our Ownership Registry. This is to permanently establish the provenance (history of ownership) of the Work, which protects its future value and authenticity for the Collector.

  • Request Access: Receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request Correction: Correct incomplete or inaccurate data.
