Adjust a collection piece
Keep a design you like and fit it to your room: change the size, the finish, the wood, the stone or the fabric. The proportions are already proven, so this is the quickest route, typically 12 to 18 weeks.

Commission a new design
Start from a sketch, a photograph, a plan or simply a problem to solve. We design, draw and make a piece for your space, and you approve the drawings before anything is made.
What can be changed
Materials, finishes and size
Every commission uses the same materials as the collection. Each piece page shows its exact materials and the parts that can be changed.
Wood
Walnut, ash, Macassar ebony, ziricote, eucalyptus and burl woods.
Stone
Marble, terrazzo and other stones, honed or polished.
Metal
Brass, bronze and stainless steel, polished, brushed or patinated.
Fabric
Bouclé, velvet, mohair, chenille, suede and leather, or your own fabric or leather (COM/COL).
Size
Height, width and depth, drawn to fit your room.
How a commission comes together
From first sketch to your room
Brief
Share the room, the piece you have in mind and how it will be used. Photos, sketches, plans or measurements all help, though a first idea is enough to begin.
Design & Quote
We reply within 3 working days to talk through your idea. A design proposal and a written quote with your timeline follow, along with finish and material samples for your approval.
Making
Production begins once you have approved the design and samples. Your piece is made in our own workshop, and we share progress photos as it takes shape.
Delivery
Your piece is crated, insured and delivered to you, with placement in your room arranged on request. Each piece is recorded in the Aftab Registry.
Made to order
Finished by hand, checked against the drawing
Joinery, metal finishing and upholstery are done by hand, under the studio’s direct supervision. Before anything leaves, each piece is checked against the drawings and samples you approved.
