Terms of Use
These terms explain how you can use this website and how we sell our pieces. Please read them before you place an order, and if anything is unclear, write to us and we will gladly explain.

1. About these terms
The company below (“Aftab Gallery”, “we” or “us”) runs this website.
[Company name]
Istanbul, Türkiye
Email: info@aftabgallery.com
These terms apply when you use our website and when you buy a piece from us, whether you are a private client or a trade client such as an interior designer, architect, hotel or developer. By using the website or placing an order, you agree to them.
Some orders also have their own written documents, such as a quote, a trade agreement or a commission agreement for a bespoke piece. If one of those documents says something different from these terms, that document applies.
2. Using this website
You may use this website to learn about our pieces, get in touch with us and manage a Registry record. You must be at least 18 years old to place an order.
Please do not misuse the website, for example by trying to access it without permission, copying its content in bulk with automated tools, sending harmful code or using it for anything unlawful. We may suspend access to protect the website or its visitors.
We work to keep the website available and accurate, but we cannot promise that it will always be available or free of errors.
3. Our designs and content
The designs, photos, drawings, texts, logos and the name Aftab Gallery belong to us or to the designers we work with, and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may share links to our pages, but you may not copy, reproduce or use our content or designs for any commercial purpose without our written permission.
Buying a piece makes you its owner, but it does not give you any right to copy, reproduce, scan or manufacture its design, or to create pieces based on it.
If you would like to publish photos of our work, for example in a magazine or your project portfolio, please ask us first. We are usually happy to help.
4. Descriptions, photos and sizes
We describe and photograph every piece as accurately as we can. Wood, stone, metal, leather and fabric are natural or hand-finished materials, so grain, veining, patina and colour vary from piece to piece and from the photos. Colours can also look different on your screen. These natural differences are part of the character of each piece, not faults.
Sizes are given as accurately as possible, but a piece made to order can differ slightly from the stated dimensions. If an exact size matters, for example for a niche or a lift, please tell us before you place your order.
The information on this website is for general guidance only. It is not professional advice for your particular project.
5. Prices and quotes
All prices are in US dollars. Some pieces show a price and others are priced on request. Prices do not include delivery, import duties, taxes or bank charges unless your quote says otherwise.
Each quote shows what is included and how long it is valid. Prices and availability can change until your order is confirmed. If we make an obvious error in a price or a description, we will tell you, and you can choose whether to go ahead at the correct price.
6. Placing an order
To order, send us a request from any piece or write to us. We will reply with a quote, or confirm the price, the finishes and the expected timeline. Your order is confirmed when we accept it in writing and receive your payment or deposit. We may decline an order, for example if a piece is no longer available, and we will then refund any payment you have made.
Please check your quote carefully, including sizes, finishes and materials, and the delivery address. Once we start work, changes may not be possible or may affect the price and timing.
7. Payment
Ready pieces are paid in full when you order. Pieces made to order start with a 50% deposit, and the balance and the cost of delivery are paid before the piece is crated and dispatched. We accept the payment methods shown on your invoice, and you pay any bank or transfer charges on your side.
If the balance is not paid when it is due, we may hold the piece until it is paid. Storage beyond the free period may then be charged, as explained in section 13.
8. Made-to-order and bespoke pieces
Pieces made to order are made for you after you choose options like size, material, finish or fabric. Bespoke pieces are designed for you and come with a separate commission agreement, which sets out the drawings, samples, payments and timeline. Where drawings, samples or finishes need your approval, production starts only after you approve them. Changes after approval may affect the price and the timeline, and we will confirm them in writing before we go ahead. For a completely new design, a design fee applies and is deducted from your final order.
9. Timelines
Your quote confirms the expected timeline for making your piece. We will keep you informed and tell you promptly if we expect a delay. If a delay becomes significant, you may ask us to agree a new date or, where the law gives you that right, cancel your order and get a refund as that law provides.
10. Cancelling an order
Please contact us straight away if you want to cancel. You may cancel within 14 days of paying your deposit, as long as production has not started. We will then refund your deposit, minus any costs we have already incurred, such as design work or materials bought for it. After that, or once production has started, a made-to-order or bespoke order cannot be cancelled, and the deposit, which covers materials and work already done, is not refundable.
We may cancel an order if we cannot make or deliver the piece for reasons outside our control. In that case, we will refund all you have paid for it.
11. Returns
Made-to-order and bespoke pieces are made to your choices, so they cannot be returned, unless they are faulty or not as described.
Ready pieces are final sale, except where the law of your country gives you a right to cancel or return them. If you have that right, please tell us in writing within the period the law allows. The piece must be unused, complete and properly packed. We will explain how to return it and who pays for the return under that law, and we will refund you within 14 days of receiving the piece back, or sooner if the law requires.
12. Faulty or damaged pieces
If a piece arrives damaged, please follow the steps on our Shipping & Delivery page and send us photos within 48 hours of delivery, so we can claim with the carrier. If you find a fault later, tell us as soon as you can, with photos.
If a piece is faulty or not as described, we will repair it, replace it or refund you, as the law that applies to you requires. This does not cover natural variation in materials, normal wear and tear, accidents, misuse, poor care, alterations or repairs by others, or use in conditions the piece was not made for, such as outdoors or in direct heat.
Nothing in these terms affects the legal rights you have as a consumer.
13. Delivery
Delivery is quoted for each order and includes transit insurance. Standard delivery is to the entrance of the building, or the nearest ground-floor access. Placement inside your home or project, with unpacking and packaging removal, can be arranged in many cities for an extra fee.
Please give us a correct delivery address and make sure the piece can reach its place: check doorways, stairs and lifts, and tell us about any access limits. If a delivery fails because no one is available or the piece cannot be brought in, extra delivery or storage costs may apply.
We can store a finished piece free of charge for up to 30 days. After that, storage can be arranged at a cost we agree with you.
14. Risk and ownership
The piece becomes your responsibility once it is delivered to you. It becomes your property once we have received full payment for it.
15. Duties, taxes and import rules
When we deliver abroad, the recipient acts as the importer and pays any import duties, VAT, taxes and customs brokerage fees, unless your quote says otherwise. Some materials may be subject to special import rules in some countries. We will share the information we have, but you are responsible for any permits your country requires.
16. Trade and project clients
If you buy for a business, such as a design studio, hotel or developer, the consumer rights mentioned in these terms do not apply to you, except where the law says otherwise. Trade pricing, quantities and schedules are agreed in writing for each order.
Our total responsibility to a business client for any order is limited to the price paid for that order.
17. Care and use
Please follow the care guidance we give you for each piece. Our pieces are made for indoor use unless we tell you otherwise. We can help with care, repairs or refinishing, even years later, and this work is quoted separately.
18. The Aftab Registry
Our pieces are recorded in the Aftab Registry, with a serial number and an online certificate. A Registry record confirms where a piece comes from. It is not a valuation, and it does not guarantee any value in the future.
Ownership records can be transferred online, with the approval of the registered owner. We may correct a record that is wrong, and we may refuse or remove a false or misused record.
19. Our responsibility
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer as a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for indirect losses, or for business losses of a private client.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
20. Events outside our control
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, war, strikes, shortages, carrier or customs delays, or government action. If this happens, we will tell you and do what we reasonably can to reduce the delay.
21. Privacy and other websites
We use your personal information as explained in our Privacy Policy. Our website may link to other websites, such as our social media pages. We are not responsible for their content or for how they use your information.
22. Law and disputes
If you ever have a concern, please write to us first. Most questions can be resolved quickly and without formal steps.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and any dispute goes to the courts of Istanbul. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts. Consumers in Türkiye may also apply to the consumer arbitration committees.
23. General
These terms, together with your quote and any other document we agree in writing, form the whole agreement between us. If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest still applies, and if we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later. We may transfer our rights under these terms to another company, which will not reduce your rights. These terms are written in English, and if we provide a translation, the English version applies where the law allows.
24. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you place an order applies to that order. For any question about these terms or your order, write to us using the details in section 1.
